Basics Level Classes are for absolute beginners to gain a basic introduction to dancing. A great way to try different dances or get started dancing today! Our experienced dance instructors use review & repetition so you will remember the steps & turns and look good dancing them. Wedding & Event Survival Prepare for your wedding dance or someone else's or just have more fun in life. This beginners class generally focuses on Fox Trot for medium tempo music and a romantic, useful slow dance like Rumba or the Waltz. We only teach two dances during most month-long sessions so you will be able to use and remember what you learned. Also visit our Wedding page. Ballroom Basics Get started dancing for fun or to prepare for a special event or a wedding. This beginners class generally focuses on Fox Trot (similar to the Two Step) for medium-tempo music and the beautiful, slow Waltz. Swing-Jitterbug Basics A fun, up-tempo dance to get moving to big band, rock, country, contemporary music & more. We start with the simple steps to get your feet coordinated with your partner so you look smooth on the dance floor. West Coast Swing It's the cool & smooth contemporary swing dance. Funky steps & Styling. Two Step Basics The spins and turns in this traditionally country dance style are great for many styles of music. Country Waltz Basics This style of Waltz travels smoothly around the floor and has spins and turns very much like those in Two Step. Great dance for medium to medium-fast tempo Waltz music. Nightclub Two A romantic slow dance, that is great for a variety of music: rock, country, and contemporary. Latin Basics Rumba, Cha Cha, Tango & Salsa are the core Latin dance classes. Rumba is a useful, yet romantic, slow dance that works for everything from Latin to country or pop music. Cha Cha is a fun & flirty dance great for Latin, funky club music or even slower country cha cha tunes. Ballroom Tango is an intense, dramatic dance that is simple to learn and fun to dance to a variety of musical styles. Salsa Basics Class Learn the spicy turns & moves of the Salsa dance, the up-tempo dance that is popular around the world. Argentine Tango Class The original Tango is an intimate dance with a distinctive style & flair. Basics II Level Classes are a continuation of the Basics for beginners ready to move on to the next level. Build on the technique and patterns learned in any Basics dance class. Dancing begins to feel more natural! Intermediate / Bronze Level Classes This level of dance lesson takes you beyond the basics to become a great social dancer. Previous classes or experience in the dance style is required. Different patterns (figures) are taught each month with some review of past material, so you can continue to take this level of instruction. Strong emphasis on Lead & Follow technique and attention to the particular styling of each dance to take you to the next level on the dance floor. Social & Ballroom Private Lessons Private Dance Instruction We offer very reasonably-priced private lessons for individuals, couples or groups of friends or family. Seven days a week, by appointment virtually any time of day or evening. We can also bring the fun to your next event or gathering! Absolute beginner or even experienced dancers will take their dancing to the next level! Dance Parties & Lessons Sunday Night Lesson & Dance Party! Generally every other Sunday night, we have a lesson & dance from 7:00 to 9:00pm. At the beginning of the month we have a beginners Two Step lesson. Later in the month we teach a dance style great for country music. Friday Night Lesson & Dance Party Can't make lessons on a regular basis on a weeknight? Enjoy an evening out at one of Sioux Falls DANCE Ballroom Events trying something new! Both a Beginner and an Intermediate-level lesson are usually offered in a variety of dance styles each month. Then enjoy a relaxed evening of dancing & socializing. Individuals and groups of friends and family welcome! Couples- make it a date night dance evening! Youth and Teen Social & Ballroom Student Classes Sioux Falls DANCE Studio offers classes specifically for students who want to dance like the stars! We offer instruction for elementary students, middle school students and classes great for high school students to get ready for a school dance, prom or formal. Student Ballroom (age 9-13) Waltz, Foxtrot, Swing, Salsa & more! Students will learn the FUNdamentals of social dance. Family Dance Parties How about fun activity for the whole family? Everyone will enjoy learning simple dance steps and then taking them to the dance floor. Watch for family events throughout the year. Ages 3 to 103! |
